I think you are jumping the gun a little bit for you cannot make such serious plans with someone... regardless of your feelings, until you have spent some time in rl together first.
People are at their most confident on the phone and pc when they cannot be seen and are viewed for their minds and personality. Physical attraction is also a very big issue as is chemistry, which can be there cerebrally but not physically.....so until you have been together a few times............you cannot make any plans that one may not want to follow leaving the other crushed.
I think ppl should look at the real life meeting as another phase in their relationship, and only from there move onto yet another phase( living togteher, marrying etc).
