Subject: Should I marry him?

He had been my bf over 1 year. And he proposed to me after 2nd month, which I found very fast but accepted it.By the way I live in Istanbul, Turkey and he lives in New Jersey. He came to visit me at last september, we had a wonderful time, he wanted to meet my family. And we met with my sister and sister in love. We stayed there, we had a good time together.
I wanted to go to graduate school at NY and sent all my papers for acceptance. If I am accepted, I will have time to know him better and I can tell my parents that we met there.
Otherwise I do not know how can I tell my parents that I want to marry a man that I only spent 10 days with.
I also wanted to go and see him for a week but Embassy refused my tourist visa. So I could not go too.
He is newly divorced and owed so much to his wife and has debts so he could not come here again.
He is really great and we have lots of in common. But I do not know, how can I marry a stranger? How can I marry a man that I spent only 10 days.
He is a little bit selfish but I know nobody is perfect. Please tell me what to do.
