Not that I worry too much about disturbing anyone at this board by speaking my mind, but as I read over some of what I wrote yesterday, I also felt that a clarification was in order, if for no one else, for myself.

When I stated that religion and politics seem, at this particular point in my life, "silly and irrelevant", I meant by that, that they, to me, most of the time, these days, are like the weather. They're interesting to ponder, but I really feel there's not a whole lot I can do about them in the sense that my spirituality is as satisfying as it will ever get, considering my mental makeup, and politically, I feel more and more that the individualist really can't be effective by organizing against the system, that the answer is to insulate oneself as much as is possible.

When all these commas start showing up in my writing, I know I'm getting way too introspective. As you may have sensed, I'm going through a sort of reckoning at the moment which, as far as I'm concerned, is always a good thing, a time to sort things out, get rid of dead wood, collect new wood, paint the faded wood, and so on.

All of this relates to the problem you have with your group: As far as I can see, the only solution is to either 1) avoid communal work situations whenever possible where the work is tallied as though the "group" did it (when, of course, each individual's effort and contribution should be weighed and credited), or 2) if there is no other way but to involve yourself in this sort of communal situation where the lazy share the credit with the productive, you should somehow figure out a way that you get credit for your good work (as it always should be on a perfect Blue planet).

I think maybe the secret of using part of the 90% or so of the brain they say we don't use is to, more and more, spend time pondering all those things you do control, and less and less on those you don't and can't. I hope to be following my own advice more in the near future. G^is la revido. GF
