In reply to: haikugirl 's message, "So... are Fyrth and Sarvin rebel Stabnar or something? I thought Dama'zark was the evil one. Oh well. More!!! So I'm not confused" on 23:09:48 12/30/03 Tue

The wall came quickly into view, but Sarvin was nowhere in sight. Grisen stopped and glanced around uncertainly for her, but Fyrth only headed towards the wall. Suddenly, as silent as a cat on padded paws, Sarvin seemed to materialize from the deepening tree shadows, rising up as if she was one of them. Fyrth glanced at her, but said nothing, walking over to the wall and sitting cross-legged with his back to it. Sarvin looked at Grisen and motioned him to follow as she sunk down next to Fyrth.
Grisen obliged hesitantly, a wolf stepping into a bear’s den, but Sarvin had turned to Fyrth. “Al’Sheen’al’Tamorac?”
Fyrth’s gaze never shifted from his knees in front of him. “Gone.”
“Gone?” Sarvin’s voice was flat, but her blazing eyes were tinged with hope. Grisen scowled angrily. He wanted answers, but they just kept adding more questions. Fyrth nodded slightly, his eyes dull.
“He felt Demarkon die and I think he realized he should have gone after you.”
Sarvin laughed dryly. “He realized correctly then, but it was already too late for Demarkon. The least the Falcon could have done would have been to send Grinfak after me. She might have stood a chance.”
Fyrth blinked slowly and nodded. “He whirled around and headed back the way he’d come and the rest immediately followed him.”
Sarvin’s chuckle was as harsh as her laugh had been. “It must have been hard for him, letting you go free again.”
Fyrth shrugged; a slow rolling of his shoulders. “He recognized that I was no longer that greatest threat.”
Grisen surged to his feet in a flurry of leaves, one hand gripping his sword hilt, and his eyes suddenly smoldering angrily. Sarvin had turned to face him, her green eyes making his glare seem puny by comparison. Fyrth had his head turned slightly to one side, studying him with a dead eye. Grisen tried to ignore Sarvin’s raging gaze and lock eyes with Fyrth, but it wasn’t easy to ignore Sarvin who was balanced between sitting back and lunging for him. “Fyrth, listen to me. I’m grateful to you for healing me, but I don’t think anyone could just walk away without answers, especially after what I’ve seen today.”
Sarvin’s glare intensified hideously, but the younger man only nodded slightly, his eyes glazed. “It’s only fair for you to know what you have stepped in to, if not by your own chance exactly.” Sarvin stiffened, her face hardening, but she didn’t argue. Grisen slowly sank back down, still clutching the hilt of his blade as a precaution. Fyrth drew his knees up and crossed his arms over them, staring dully across at Grisen. Sarvin’s eyes had narrowed to slits, but she said nothing.
Grisen drew a deep breath. “Who are you Fyrth?”
“He is Falkhan Fyrth!” Sarvin’s reply was harsh but she kept her flashing eyes focused on the forest around them. “He wants the whole truth. You must tell him.”
