5. A friend at last.

Mara stepped out of her dorm out into the hallway. She made her way to where everyone was, keeping to the shadows, and for the second time her eye filled with tears as she watched the carefree dibbun's happily playing in the sunshine. Suddenly her eyes caught sight of a pretty foxmaid sitting in a wheel-chair, her head bent and her eyes sadly studying her twisted and scarred legs. The ferret walked over and sat down beside her. The fox looked up in surprise and saw the bluest eyes peering out of a masked face, shrouded all about by a black hood. Mara spoke, "I'm Mara, who are you?" Finally she spoke. Her voice was soft and sweet,"My name is Chandre Stardancer."
As soon as Mara heard the friendly tone in Chandre's voice, she knew that at last she had a friend.

-Once alone, with my heart broken beyond repair.
But now I have a friend, and when I cry she cares.
No longer do I fear, of being an outcast,
'coz now I've got a friendship that will forever last!-
