“Rise and shine and give Him the glory glory, children of the Looooord!” A pretty voice broke out into song. Arion sat up, rubbing her eyes, “Isn’t it give GOD the glory glory?” Saila, the one who had been singing, grinned at her. “Well, ‘Him’ is referring to God, so it’s pretty much the same thing. I learned that when I was about five, so I forget most of it anyway.” Arion shook her head, laughing, and climbed out of bed. She quickly got dressed, and joined Hadha in cooking breakfast. “What’s for eats?” She asked, “I’m starving!” Hadha chuckled and gestured to the oven. “Cinnamon toast and biscuits, that’s what for eats!”
As they all sat down at the dinner table, Arion snuck a quick peek at Tacroy, blushing as she found he was watching her. After a quick prayer of thanks to the Almighty One, Arion bit into a piece of toast, her eyes flying open wide at the taste of the sweet treat. “Wow!” She exclaimed, spraying crumbs everywhere as she did so, “This is really good! Back at our house we usually had cereal or eggs for breakfast!” Saila smiled, remarking, “Hadha is a wonderful cook, we’d be lost without her.” With a blush, Hadha buried her face in a tall beaker of mint tea, trying to hide her pride. A crash came from the living room, and all the men at the table leapt to their feet. Konduu swore quietly, cutting himself off quickly as Saila reproved him. In the entryway stood at least a score of heavily armored men. Idela sucked in a deep breath, stuffing Arion painfully into a corner to hide her from the knights. “Ye’ve been called fer a meetin’ with ‘is ‘ighness Hephaestus.” On of them growled. At the mention of their leader’s name, all of the knights nodded reverently in unison. “Ye’ll be comin’ wiv us!” The same one ordered. Tacroy slipped, unnoticed, to join Arion in the corner. “C’mon, we have to hide ourselves!” They scurried off, crouching, to the basement and hid there for a while, until they heard the gallop of horses. Tacroy looked at Arion in dismay. “What are we going to do?”
