That stomach wrenching feeling of pure terror, that twists the gut inside out, that makes the heart beat with a renewed ferocity, would have engulfed any other person when their eyes caught sight of the fearsome spectacle in front. Their pulse would have quickened, like the pounding of an interior drum, the blood would have rushed to their ears and roared like a raging river, and their palms would have been coated with a sheen of sweat, that glistened in the sun like so many bright jewels. But Fyrth wasn’t any other person and not a flicker of emotion crossed his face as he stared ahead of him, his eyes unnaturally distant and vague.
Any other person would have dropped to their knees and grovel in the red dust for mercy, their tears leaking out to splatter the road like drops of rain. No one, would have ever thought to draw a weapon, an open gesture of defiance would have sent you crashing to the earth dead, before you could blink. But Fyrth wasn’t intimidated. Standing there, as casually as if he was talking to a friend, his black cloak whipping around him in the wind, Fyrth drew from his waist, a single long dagger. From inside that feared ring of black clad horsemen, he waited, the blade held loosely in his hand, almost as if he didn’t really need it.
But the strangest thing of all was that there came no sudden flash of fire, no twanging of crossbow strings. Just silence. The sun beat down on the intimidating sight. Sixteen black clad horsemen, on their black steeds, sitting as still as the mountain behind them, surrounding a single man in a wall of darkness. Their fearsome gauntleted hands that clasped the reins tightly, the black hoods drawn up over their faces, their shiny, dark eyes blazing like coals in the black furnaces of their faces. They stood so still; they could have been mistaken as statues to some dark god, even their black horses didn’t shift even the slightest inch under the heavy saddles or the cruel bits tugging at their mouths.
The scene was so unusual, so fearsomely intimidating that had anyone been traveling down that dusty road, with the sun on their face like a great eye, they would have been riveted to the spot as well, another unmoving statue to the collection.
Fyrth made no move to sheathe his blade, yet the way he stood, weapon held loosely in lifeless fingers, eyes hooded and unfixed, and a black boot, kicking at the dust on the ground, showed that he was relaxed and at ease in the presence of these dark horsemen. Fyrth wasn’t an ordinary person.
Suddenly, through the thick waves of heat and silence came a sound that sent birds flying from the withered trees, by the road’s side. The dull, muffled pounding of a horse’s hooves. And still neither Fyrth or the sixteen present horsemen moved a muscle. A stream of dust became visible through the shining, dancing heat waves, like the wings of some monstrous bird, spreading out to graze the sky. At its head rode another dark man, the legs of his steed reaching out in front to bite at the earth, then coming swiftly underneath it propelling it on. The man on top of the high black saddle sat immobile, one hand clutching the reins in tight, unyielding fingers, the other hand at his side, clasping something in his belt. On his head was a black circle of steel which caught the light of the sun on it’s jagged points, dulling it, as it played on the metal. The fearsome, twisted crown caught the light and tainted it dark, letting it dance through the width of the circle, making it glow like some sickly wheel of fire.
The muscles of the horse stretched and bunched under the black coat, glistening with a sheen of sweat. Its nostrils flared wide, showing the bright red, and its eyes were gleaming with the light of the sun. Its teeth bared against the bit, its mane streaming out like a wave of black, the horse carried its impressive rider forward with unrivaled speed, which sent the dust surging up like the jaws of some giant beast, snapping at the dark horseman.
Fyrth’s distant eyes flicked to the approaching rider and for a second, they gleamed like an earthbound star, as if a shutter behind his face had opened and light and emotion danced in his eyes. But only for a second. Then they clouded over once again, dull and lifeless, like a dead creature. The shutters had swung close once more.
The horseman raced towards the circle of its fellow riders, his un-hooded face reflecting the light wavering up and down his black steed’s shining coat. When he approached the circle of immobile riders, he reined his snorting horse to a halt so suddenly that the creature’s haunches came under it and its forelegs pawed at the air fiercely.
It managed to come to a halt and the rider, unfazed calmly let go of the reins and slowly, swing down out of the saddle, his black cape whipping around him in the wind. His black booted feet hit the ground simultaneously with a sudden thud, which cut through the restored silence like the blade of a knife.
For the first time, the hooded riders who surrounded Fyrth moved. Everyone one of them flinched suddenly when the thud cut through the air. Fyrth didn’t bat an eyelid. His gaze was fixed on the new horseman, but his eyes were once again hooded and dull, and not a flicker of emotion crossed his empty face.
The horseman turned from his horse and suddenly locked eyes with Fyrth and immediately, there was a tension in the air, stronger than any felt so far. It was as if two storms were about to come together in a clash of thunder and lightning. Without unlocking his eyes from Fyrth, the crowned man strode forwards, placing first one black boot in front of him, then the other with a dreadful purpose and menace.
He was unnaturally tall and he carried himself in such a way that there was a hidden danger that cloaked itself around him, a hint of unchallenged wrath and deadly menace. He strode slowly forwards, his dark eyes digging deep into Fyrth’s with a furious energy that would have caused any other person to writhe on their stomachs in the dirt, begging for forgiveness. But Fyrth was different, straightening up, he clasped his dagger just a little tighter, entwining his fingers around the blade as if it was part of him and his boot stopped kicking at the dirt.
The crowned man came to a halt in front of Fyrth, not more than two feet away and his left hand which had been at his side the entire time, clasping some hidden object, suddenly drew from its sheath, a long, keen sword. The light glimmered off the point and ran up and down its length like bright little rivers and Fyrth’s eyes suddenly darted to it, as if drawn by the wonderful dancing, leaping patterns of light. The crowned figure’s eyes never left Fyrth’s face as he spoke. His voice was soft and hardly more than a whisper, but everyone in the circle, all the dark horsemen and Fyrth could hear every single word. And there was an edge of malice that tinged and fouled each word that came out of his mouth, as if they were unclean and soiled just from him speaking them.
“Look who we have here!” Fyrth’s eyes shot back to the crowned man in front and his only sign of emotion, was to narrow them in hate. The man laughed quietly and sickly, his body shaking slightly. “Ah, Fyrth. Ran out of places to hide have we? Or are you just getting rusty? Either way, we’ve finally got you Fyrth. Dama'zark shall be pleased.”

I've started another story! This time it's Redwall so here goes!

The moon, in all it's glory spread it's wings as if waking from a long sleep. Shafts of silvery moonlight shone bravely into the small area of woodland below. The trees shone as if been tainted by some powerful magic making then come alive. There was a gentle breeze, betrayed only by the soft rustling of leaves on the ground below. The wild flowers closed all their doors to the world and swayed to and fro as if dancing to a merry tune played by the wind.

A young vixen, known only by her first name as Varsa disturbed the quiet atmosphere, trundling through the woodlands followed by a pack of blood thirsty vermin. The front runners were covering ground quickly and the vixen knew it was only a matter of time before they caught her.

How did I get into this mess?
That question had been playing on her mind for a while.
The front runners were getting closer, one held a dagger in one paw, it's blade glinting dangerously. As he was about to throw it an arrow found it's home embedded in his chest. The vermin stood still, afraid that if they moved they too would become targets. There was a long silence. All that could be heard was the soft murmuring of the trees as they exchanged pleasantries with the wind. A voice called out amongst the trees, "Hey you, vermin. Be on your way."
They needed no second bidding, the pack disappeared.

Varsa stood motionless as the squirrels leapt down from their hiding places. They were all strong warriors with their tribal tattoo stamped on their right arm. They looked a fierce sight. They advanced towards her warily. Her eyes closed expecting her young life to end it's journey.

The squirrel circled Varsa, making sure she was not armed and seeing what kind of beast he had before him. She suddenly shivered, cold waves running up and down her body. He smiled towards her and extended a claw, "The name's Aronwood, and this..." he pointed behind him, "This is my tribe, the Oak tribe. You have heard of us?"

A scream welled up in Varsa's throat but found no escape. The Oak tribe would normally kill vermin on sight, why not her? How could Aronwood be so casual so friendly? Even his tribe looked uncomfortable, shifting their feet from side to side, looking to the floor. Vermin=evil. That's what they were thinking. Aronwood smiled baring his sparkling white teeth. "You are no enemy to us, I know that for sure. Why were those scoundrels chasing you?"
She remained silent, her eyes searched the area for an escape route. There was none, the tribe had made sure of that.

"I think we should get rid of 'er!" A voice called out, it was Saptree. Aronwood silenced him with a glare.
"We'll take you to Redwall." he said, "You'll be safe there. You heard of the great Abbey before?
She nodded. Redwall, what a beautiful name. Somewhere where peace prevailed and above all, she would be safe and far away from them.......

In a dark corner, she stays all cloaked in black.
Her eyes glint sadly as she looks at the happy beasts.
Her life is a sham, and o'er her face is a mask.
To hide the scars that cover her once beautiful face.
~~The forsaken one~~

1. Welcome to the Fort.

Mara stood in front of the fort, her ocean blue eyes grew wide as she stared at the large structure. She pulled the bell rope hesitently and hoped that none would question her cloaked form and masked face. The last thing she wanted was to be asked about them.
A mere slip of a mouse opened the door and peered out, "Who's there?" She called softly, unable to see Mara in the shadows. The ferretmaid stepped forward, and spoke in a reasuring tone when the mouse gasped in terror, "Hello... My name is Mara. I would like to stay in the fort for a while, if I may." The mouse looked at her, unsure of what to say. Finally she stepped aside and smiled slightly, "Welcome to Lancepaw's Fort, Mara!"

-Welcomed reluctantly into the Fort,
I hope I won't be dispised.
Will anybeast care to be my friend?
Oh how I hope so, oh how I hope so!-

This is about how the Redwall world may have began.

First off our world, about a couple hundred years later has gotten into a horrible age of technology with flying cars, lots of pollution and mostly every rainforest cut down and turned into large disgusting cities.
The humans have pretty much destroyed the world and everything was run by electronics now, They relied on machines more then everything and didn’t expect what would happen next.
A giant meteor was heading towards earth, but the computers they relied on so much didn’t notice it until it was too late; the meteor hit the planet and time repeated itself... The humans all died out very quick. It also wiped out most of the land animals such as bears, monkeys, kangaroos, lions, and most of the animals you would find in zoos.
The air creatures were in the sky so they weren’t really affected by the collision nor were the water creatures.
Luckily many animals such as Mice, squirrels, moles etc... (your usual woodlanders) had noticed the meteor and dug underground along with the rats, ferrets, weasel, (and your usual vermin ^_^ ) and they stayed underground until they thought it was safe to come up.
A while later they came out of the ground and the air was filled with some strange chemical that emitted out of the meteor.
The chemical was affecting the animals and after a while they started to mutate, it made them grow and become more intelligent and after a few years they started to walk on two legs and they even started talking and teaching themselves how to read from old Human literature.
But the chemical had done something to some of the vermin, they had a different kind of exposure and for some strange reason they became crabby and irritable and the rats wanted to be the leaders of all the animals but the mice wouldn’t let them, so the rats decided to lead their own group and their hatred towards to woodlanders started to grow after a long time.
So from then on the vermin and woodlanders feuded and fought each-other and for many, many, many centuries the human buildings crumbled and trees grew back, and pollution eventually just disappeared and everything was nice again.
And the animals built their own homes and lived off the land and eventually they got to where we know them now.
Let’s just hope they don’t make the same mistake the human’s did.

How did you like it?

*bows his head shamefully before everybeast*

I'm so sorry I haven't been here in ages. The comp went down, y'see, and... It's been difficult.

I guess I'm just leaving everybeast and FYI that I'm still alive but stuck with an abysmally slow comp.

In case anybeast cared, of course...

The first thing that Hansen was aware of was the sudden and dramatic drop in the temperature of the room; as he gazed around him, he saw his breath fog out in white funnels before him. The cold seemed to engulf him. Something else occupied that room aswell; as Hansen stood in the doorway, he heard a soft, insistent rustling and scraping, such as an animal makes when it is trying to rise.

It stopped 'Just the wind' he thought as he crept cautiously towards the small table in the corner of the room. On the table Hansen spotted a book. It was leather bound with an inscription in faded gold writing. It said ' Longoas Infernos Fera ' Hansen repeated the words as he flicked through the pages of the old book. He had found what he was looking for. As he was about to leave the rustling and scraping started again. Hansen shivered. Suddenly the door opened as if by itself. A lone figure was standing in the door frame. It stared at Hansen, startled. "Who are you?" whispered Hansen as the figure came towards him....... TBC but I need your comments good and bad please!!!!!!!

There once was a city, long ago, named, Ignall. In Ignall lived the bravest of the brave. The kindest of the kind. The smartest of the smart. There were all sorts of creatures living together in harmony.
Yarcks, for example were part dog and part human. Urffs were a cross between dragons and bulls. Opuss were both bird and human, to name but a few...
There were very rare races there also. Phees were aligator and squirrl. Impalls were the rarest of rare, Humans and elves, I know it isn't very special, but to the Ignall people, they were rare. The same with Harows. They were a cross between dwarf and elf.
A few Impalls and Harows would have changed lives after a year. One such Impall was, Thorin. Thorin was strong, smart, and usually kept to himself. His clothing was simple. A sword proof shirt under his rusty colored shirt. The same color applied with his pants. Black hair came down to his strong well built shoulders. Dark forbidding eyes were usually sharp and kind.
Another Impall was Fertill. Fertill had a light and carefree attitude. His clothes showed his personality. A pale blue cloak tied together with a green pendant before his neck, and a tan shirt. Baggy rusty colored pants hid his legs. Loose sandy hair tumbled to his neck. Blue eyes were always shining, and fun.
One Harows life would change too, Rosha. Rosha had a knack for swords, daggers, sabres, scmitinars, practicly anything with a blade. Her black hair was always braided, and soft brown eyes were always alert, even though hardly any emotions except for kindness showed in her eyes. If you even call kindness an emotion. Dark woodland colored clothes made her almost invisible in the woods. A cloak coverd in leaves was hardly ever off her.
One last persons life to change was a Harow named Argathall. She had dark brown clothes and a leafy cloak like Rosha. Short brown hair came to the bottom of her ears. Green eyes always shone compasion, love, and hate. Every kind of emotion was shone in the eyes.
Here's the story.

"Hello? Argathall? It's Rosha! Come out this inst-Aha!" Rosha raced after Argathall in a game of blend with the forest. Their green shoes made no noise whatsoever exept for the light rustle of leaves.
"Aarrrgggaaatthhhaaaalllll!"
"Rrrroooossssshhhhhaaaaaaa!"
"Oh, fiddle dum sticks." Rosha stopped and stood still, soon after, she wasn't visible to an ordinary observer. They had to look very closely to even ditect the shape of a Harow. Argathall did the same.
"Fit, frat, an' foddley dee!" Argathall whispered to her life long companion. "Th' prunes have been folowing us! Well, grab me cloak an' rob me food, those Impalls neva leave us alone long enough to play blend with th' forest."
"Yes, yes, Argathall. They have been our friends since, er, fifteen years ago. Lifelong companions, like we are."
"Yes, Rosha." A mischevios smile hovered on Argathall's lips. "Yes, companions need a little scarin once an' a while eh?"
"Hmmm..I suppose." Rosha and Argathall dissapeared from veiw without a trace.

"Oh, golly. That Rosha an' Argathall neva run out of energy, Thorin." Fertill plopped down on a rock, making a THWUNG noise.
"Ahhahahahah! Umamamama jarka tuta!"
"Urfanata weekarta fittlil faate! Marsellft!"
"Oh, come on, Rosha. You can do better than an Eparaka accent." Thorin insulted up into the trees.
"Oh, an' Argathall, it's, Urfrantara..not, Urfanata." Commented Fertill.
"Oh, come off it, Urgan language!" Rosha and Argathall jumped down out of the trees.
"Eparaka, Urgan, Yapa, an' Quettle Vince." Thorin commented.
Rosha rolled her eyes like all fifteen year olds do. "C'mon. Your fifteen an' smart as ur, Deiffa Baw."
"Deiffa Baw's an ole prune." Thorin snorted.
"Argathall, Urfrantara means supper, Urfanata means ate." Fertill stated.
"Pshaw! Eglazes could've 'eard tha' plop miles away, give-away-our-location-pants!"
The four friends would have stopped had they noticed the peircing yellow eyes surrounding them one by one.
"Urfagara! Suppa fa O Rogga" a scratchy low pitched voice called out so that the Impalls and Harows couldn't hear."Charge!"

It's for a story I'm writing. (Singe is the bad guy in the story)

The Ballad of Singe Arro

A storm on the sea sealed the fate of a rat,
A captain called Churl on a limbleg he sat.
Dodge had spoke forth, but the captain struck out,
His life was in danger with Singe Arro about.
The murder commited by an uprising stoat,
Caused riot and anger all over the boat.
Spiketail was blamed for death on his paws,
Pinky blamed Arro; for he saw his flaws.
Fought the stoat and the weasel all over the place,
Singe found himself losing, as Spiketail gave chase,
His legs were beat and his spirit was broke,
And proud Dodge did he say to all pirate folk,
"Shall I kill the beast now, or send him away?
I will not take his prsence here one more day."
So Singe Arro was sent, on a tiny rowboat,
Left to the storm, for the weasel to gloat.
Seas took him this way and waves pushed him that,
Stuck on an island, he knew not where at.
Searats marooned were to make up his new crew,
And vengence one day would be his, Arro knew,
When they took a ship that had passed by that way,
(They knew on the island that they'd never stay)
Both calm and rough seas did Singe Arro traverse,
Bowed legs did remind him each day then to curse,
The name of Dodge Spiketail forever to doom,
For causing his pain and his anger and gloom.
