Dreamfur landed on her shoulder as Bonifa pushed her to the dirt. The dirt and sand mixed and got into her eyes, but it could not hide the tears that appeared there. Bonifa laughed scornfully, "You'll never make an assassin. Can't even defend yourself!" The well spoken ferret announced this boldly to all vermin present. "I say we leave this one here!" A scraggly weasel hopped up slowly. "We carnt leev thisun 'ere. Chief sed to bring 'er back ta camp." He muttered slowly. Bonifa slew him with one thrust. "Ha! She'll never make an assassin! Who doubts me, Eh? Step forward one and all!" She challenged them with a sneer. No beast stepped forward. They all knew how skillful Bonifa was with a blade. Dreamfur stood up slowly. Bonifa swiveled to look upon the squirrel. Bonifa looked her up and down haughtily. "Hmph! Who ever heard of a squirrel wanting to be with vermin anyway?" As Bonifa turned to march off, Dreamfur grabbed a bow and shot skillfully at Bonifa's turned back. It hit it's mark with expert speed. Dreamfur picked up the blade from the fallen ferret. Her green eyes glinted dangerously. One of the bolder vermin threw a knife at her. She dodged the clumsy throw easily, although it nicked her paw. The bright red blood stained her pure white fur as it ran down her paw. She shot a shaft wildly into the crowd of vermin. "I made a mistake when I asked you to accept me into this crowd. I will return! I promise." She snarled. Her angry words burned themselves into the minds of every beast present. A small deaf vermin hobbled out to join her. They left the camp together.
