Subject: "I'm being truthful." He growled back and tipped his chin up a fraction, before running his hands slowly through his hair and turning his gaze away finally. "Sorry, let's just go back to pretending like everything's okay. Next time though, when you wake up in a hospital connected to a whole bunch of machines to keep your body running, you can figure out how to explain that one to the press." Despite the content of his words, his tone wasn't cruel - it was just hopeless and a little frustrated. He didn't know what to do here.
