Perhaps, not ever. “I have lived in Cascade Mountains my entire life,” she states, mimicking his removed attitude for the moment. “Much longer than you, I assume based on my previous travel in these parts.”

Calm, collected...drag racing thoughts of deception. Conflicting interest not to exposure, yet not to lie. Difficult, but do-able in the range of the specific questions asked. “Where do you come from, Big Brother?”
