i went and looked at some of the stuff on the net. unless you already know the i-ching, the stuff can be confusing. i wuold suggest you go to the library or actually purchase a book to study this. if you just want to throw the hexagrams to "fortell your future" so to speak then the site at:
http://www1.shore.net/~rdl/iching/IChing.html
is the only one i could find that gives quick directions and fairly easy answers. the problem with easy answers is that they are rather disappointing, the actual i-ching can give you a lot more.

as for water and thunder, it depends on the hexagram. so you have a hexagram for water and thunder and one for thunder and water, see? three lines for water, three lines for thunder and you read the hexagram depending on which set is on top, either water or thunder...so they will give you different readings.

there is more. lines can be affected by other factors, that may put stress on certain things in the reading. it is very complicated. you really need a book for it. i had a book, then it was easy to do because i had the instructions in front of me. i dont have the book any more, i think my old boyfriend has it. i thought the i-ching was a lot of fun and i was amazed at some of the stuff i got from it!

they dont know exactly when tarot began. some speculate 14th century, some later. so i-ching is much older than tarot. they are different systems that tell the same story of how humans can live in this world on a day to day basis, and yet deal with forces beyond their control. i would say the i-ching has more of a philosophical foundation behind it because of its great history and many writings.

ok, catch ya later!
