i was a kix, raisin bran (always post, never kelloggs!), special k, oatmeal kinda kid. and that's with no sugar added, either! my mom didn't buy those crammed-chock-full-with-sugar-and-other-crap-that-ain't-good-for-you cereals. i remember when i finally tried lucky charms and trix i spit it right back out! lol
i just like the sayings....anyone else out there remember the one and only time the poor rabbit finally got his trix?!!?!
anyway, the term "universe" means "all encompassing," medeis. we in this plane of existence only have one universe. you can have many other galaxies....but they're all here in this one universe, on this one plane of existence.
however, i'm going to step into the real of "science fiction becomes science fact" and say that there are other universes out there, in other planes of existence, and that this has been proven!. some people are calling these other universes "the multiverse" because "universe" states there is only one. and we now know that there are an infinite number of universes all with their own set of outcomes.
ever wonder how your life would have turned out if you had sped up at that intersection when the light turned yellow instead of being a good motorist and stopping? well, in the split second it took you to make that decision and choose a course of action, the universe split into two...and in the other you did speed up, and you in that other universe are living out your life that resulted in choosing one outcome over another.
every time we make a decision and act upon it, the universe splits into as many different possible outcomes as was possible for that one choice. then, when we decide again, the universes split again, and again, and again.....so there are an infinite number of universes based on the daily choices that all people of the world have made.
let's not get into the reality of life on other planets. that's too much for even me to think about....
anyway, the way they've come to realize the existence of the multiverse is quantum physics, which is also where they came up with the theory of quantum foam that i mentioned in a previous post.
and the universe is expanding. of course, since we don't have the technology or mathematics yet to prove these theories (but i'm sure we will soon thanks to quantum physics/mechanics/theory). however, buy into the theory of the big bang (which just about every big mind in the genre does by now) and we know it's expanding.
of course, since you cannot have more energy at the end of a result than you did at the beginning, so one of these days the universe is going to poop out and begin to fold in on itself. so it'll collapse, everything will be pulled into everything else, there will be terrific, epic and godlike chaos and destruction.....it will fold and fold and fold until it is just a tiny ball of extremely, massively, unimaginably condensed matter....and then
BOOM!!!
there will be this massively huge big bang and it will all start over again......
