perhaps you're not in the gaming world, but oh my god! not having heard of at least Diablo II is like...like...not having heard of..well, i don't know what it's like. it's only a global phenomenon in the gaming world! and the expansion set is coming soon to a gaming store near you! (augh, i can't wait!)
it's made by blizzard entertainment, the company that makes such kick-ass games (like Starcraft, Starcraft: Brood War, Warcraft, Warcraft II, Warcraft: Beyond the Dark Portal, Diablo, Diablo II, and coming soon: Diablo II expansion) of which I have all of them...except for D2 exp which hasn't come out yet! lol
EverQuest is also that caliber, and it's a real-time RPG game where you traverse the continent fighting evil, monsters, honing your skills (gaining levels), and upgrading weapons and armor and skills.
Black & White is like SimCity and Age of Empires (and AoE2) where you build your society, tell your villagers to chop wood, gather food, etc. you build houses, smiths, etc in order to build the tools and establishments you need to utilize your resources. except, the thing about B&W is that you are a god. you can learn miracles, your power is dependant on how much your people believe in you, you control a Creature that walks the earth doing your bidding. you can be a good and gracious god, or you can go old testament and be a vengeful and jealous god and rule by fear. i love it. the motto for B&W is "Serve the people...or serve the people as entrees." it's great! i haven't played it, but i'm thinking of going out today and getting it.
either that or everquest. haven't really made up my mind yet. :0)
i'm a huge gamer, if you hadn't already noticed. in fact, i play Diablo II so much that i've founded a clan called Phoenix Night that i'm trying to build up with a friend. it's really exciting. at any one time, there's usually almost 30,000 people playing Diablo II online, if that gives you an idea of how big this gaming thing is.
anyway, that's it. :0)
