well i wont be using mercury...thats dangerous stuff, the fumes will poison you! (not that i could get ahold of it anyway!)

i have heard that some people use black ink to color the water, but clear water in a black or blue bowl sounds nice to me...maybe i'll try both ways.

i agree with you in that i think a circle is needed, it will be interesting to see the experience of others, but i think i would use one. i do not have a personal guardian (that i know of)(do you?). i call the guardians of the north, south, east and west...hopefully there wouldnt be interference!

as for shields. mine keep out other peoples unwanted emotive bits, as well as other stuff. they contain me and shield me from being read by others. but they are very close to my body, anything i do is outside the shield. i think i would have to drop them to scry. i dont know.

well maybe i better be prepared to be tired afterwards. like do it right before i am going to go to bed anyway, that way i wont ruin my night! thanks for the helpful info!!!
