In reply to: medeis 's message, "scrying" on 13:37:14 05/05/01 Sat

hey medeis and jade. i'm sorry if i'm interrupting, but i thought i'd add my little bit here. :0)

i've heard that for scrying, mercury works better than even black water. but who here can get a hold of enough thermometers to fill a dark bowl enough to scry? lol i would use black water.
as for the circle, i tend to agree. i've read about some very....interesting things getting in during a scrying session. i would only invoke your own personal guardian for protection as well, though. too much interference and you don't get a clear picture.
and what kind of shields were you talking about? i haven't read too much on them, but what i've read leads me to believe that if you have a shield up then the spells you cast have to be outside the shield to work or else they're contained by the shield. what's your take on this?
and scrying is a lot like any type of exercise: the more you do it, the more stamina you build for it. i know a girl that the first few times she scried she was out like a light for a few days. then again, she was a very minor witch.
i'm only going by what i've read or what my wiccan friends have told me, not by any personal experience. but i'd love to learn! :0)
