That is not the solution to all our problems. Politicians are not the answer to the economic issues we have today. Handout and cargo cult mentality must stop now. We should all learn to be self reliant. Self reliance cannot be achieved through sleeping under the mango tree waiting for the politician to bring money bags whole day long. If Milne Bay were to advance we need to get our acts together and help our selves first. Recall the colonial days when the oldies had to work hard to clean the roads, build bridges & road, aid posts, schools, for free! The villages, stations and schools were in very good shapes.

If you guys had a chance to visit a developed country like USA or Australia, you would realise that people do not sit and wait for their politicians all day for money, no way. They are always on the move...working day and night hard! Politician's job is to formulate policies and regulations to ensure proper governance of its citizens.

The slush fund issue is a mistake only found in PNG. Unfortunately, the initial good intentions of the fund has now created a cargo cult culture among the masses. For any country to move forward, real development must come from its citizens. It is the people who develop the nation and not the filthy politicians.

So my wans, let us start asking ourselves as to what we should be doing to contribute towards the development of the province and the country in the next five years rather than asking what the policians will do for us in the next five years. This I believe is the real question.
