Obviously people can say almost anything in magazines and newspapers and if it's in print it must be fact right? I don't really know much about Marshall Govindan but it seems like his form of "kriya or whatever it is" is in competition with Yogananda's Self Realization Fellowship. It's kind of funny that he has to use the New Times story as a cover for being able to come out about it now. The stories in New Times have been totally ripped to shreds by DNA tests performed on a relative of Yogananda's and obviously by the people who were closely around Yogananda. If people have any doubts they should contact the SRF Mother Center for a more detailed rebuttal or check out this website: http://www.friendsofsrf.com/

In the same issue of "WIE" they interview a monastic from SRF who gives much positive information about Babaji including that he has had an inner experience with the Mahavatar. They also interview Roy Eugene Davis who is a former disciple of Yogananda's. He says that he(Roy) has never seen Babaji himself. He also seems to questions some of the stories in Yogananda's "Autobiography of a Yogi" saying that alot of them were anectodal. I thought this was strange considering he's based his teachings on Yogananda's. Then again maybe that's just how it came across in print. It seems pretty easy to slander someone once they are no longer in the flesh to publicly defend themself. Believe what you want...
