I'm not too bothered about your remarks towards me. In fact the number of hits this board receives shoots up when there is some heated discussion. It seems we all enjoy a good argument. (There are no counters or IP trackers on this board but boards2go provide a basic counter in the admin section.)

I'm afraid that the idea of a shift in the chakras doesn't hold much water. Firstly Paulsen claims his technique is an ancient system first taught by the Angel man and woman, whoever they are. Secondly Sri Yukteswar claims that the transition from Kali to Dwarpa Yuga occured in the 17th century, and the Pisces-Virgo age will last from A.D. 499 to A.D.2499. There has been no major transition in the last few decades according to Sri Yukteswar's theory.

Yogananda was teaching just 50 years ago, a mere tick of the astronomical clock. Dasgupta was writing in the 1970's. The idea that mankinds astral bodies have evolved so much in the few short years since then is not credible.

Anyway we are not talking about a simple shift of the colours associated with the chakras along the spine, but a completely different system.

What it comes down to is that if Paulsen is right then Yogananda (along with many other highly respected yogi's) was wrong. In effect Babaji had sent Yogananda to the West to teach something that would be obsolete in a few years.

Yogananda taught us to be very suspicious of people who claim to have received teachings directly from the inner planes. Most people are just not advanced enough to be able to receive such teachings. Whatever Paulsen's followers may believe about his current spiritual achievements, at the time he started his demon slaying, planet hoping career he was, by his own admission, someone who had fallen from the spiritual life and become an alcoholic.

The rainbow theory is not the only way in which Paulsen's teaching vary from those of Yogananda and the experience of genuine yogi's. The "descending masculine force" is another example. Taken together with all Paulsen's other extraordinary claims, the probability of them all being correct must be very low indeed.

On the other hand we do know that there are many people who will lie, and invent this type of story for whatever reason. Perhaps we cannot completely disprove all of Paulsen's claims, but we can certainly show that there is a very strong probability that they are untrue. The simplest explanation is that Paulsen is wrong.

Sometimes the simple and obvious explanation is in fact the best.
