Shrilling his disappointment as he hears the happily entwined flits, the brown keeps on plummeting, his nose headed straight for the ground as he shrills. A tremendous outstretch of his wings saves him from a total plummet, and he levels off, his talons brushing only desolate leafy ground. He'd have to get back now. But this was only his first attempt, and besides, he knew now he had the strength to match any bronze, if he tried. With a resonant thrum more of a comeback promies than of defeat, he blinks out in search of his old family.
