Keep on believing that you have more power than Frenchman's X and we'll do the same race again. I suspect that the transition from the concrete to asphalt upset my chassis enough to cause X to lose traction for the first 400 ft or so and that's the only reason you were still there. If we would have rolled from a tightly-knit asphalt section, SS-747 would have been lost in X's wake much sooner. Certainly, both cars will suffer when pavement has a bump, but not w/ the same magnitude.
A time bomb (extreme nitrous shot) could be placed atop the intake mfld of X and it would perform REAL GOOD, for awhile anyway; just like your high intake mfld pressure. But after a short period, your parts become taxed excessively and the inevitable happens.
One more point. With accelerometers onboard, they indicated X was trapping 152 mph on the street while spinning the whole way down. According to the Moroso Power Speed Calculator, that would require about 1050-1100 hp at a running weight of 4100 lbs. (had a 260 lb passenger with me when I did it)
And Shane made a keen observation yesterday after the race. "X just has too much power to be raced on the street while wearing a 28.00-11.00-15 tire... a true 10.5" tire." At 150 mph, she's still stretching the tire and unloading the rear-end in surges. But if you would like to go to the dragstrip, I'll show you what she'll really do. Bring your piggy bank.
