There is no question that the old goat can run harder than it did. The truth be known, you were on your way to a very low 9 second pass and maybe a high 8. I never doubted that; however, you won't be doing this feat solo. X can do the same.
So I guess the question is, "Which car has more left in it?" You will never out-mph IROC-X. You will win at the tree, you are good. You will probably beat me to 660 ft, but you will not beat me to 1320 ft... when I drop the Cajun bomb, that is. You may want to consider some more nectar atop your 500 inch motor for the race, plus a fan, alternator, and a drum of race fuel riding in the back of your 1-ton truck for the trip to the Sonic. Don't forget a tow strap either, when you overheat. (Gee, I'm getting hungry just thinking about it)
Nobody ever told me that a race had a "start" and an "end"... strange.
