As the saying goes, “There are no Atheists in a foxhole.” It was always very soothing to have a chaplain’s services to see us off to any combat operation. Unfortunately, it was also so very soothing to see chaplains ignoring incoming fire in the midst of a battle to see our brothers off to the afterlife.

My sincere condolences to SFC Rodriguez’s family, friends and loved ones along with all the others that have served their country to the ultimate sacrifice. May our Good Lord receive them all with the honor that they all deserve and may you as a chaplain, be blessed for paving the road in the right direction of those of us that have taken life for granted. . . . . . . .
