Howdy Dave;

SP4 William McKnight, Jr.'s MOS was 12B20 (Combat Engineer) and he was a member of A Company, 65th Engineer Battalion (Divisional), 25th Infantry Division. He was KIA on 8/28/68 in Tay Ninh Province due to "Hostile, Ground Casualty, Gun, Small-Arms Fire". The only thing that the Company Morning Report will show is the military map coordinates of where the incident took place.

To get more information, try leaving a post at the 65th Engineers' homepage at http://unitpages.military.com/unitpages/unit.do?id=104103 . They have 341 members on their roster many of whom are Vietnam-era vets. The 65th Engineers were headquartered at Cu Chi (west of Saigon), but most of the battalion's line companies were stationed elsewhere. I think that A Co. was at Tay Ninh City (the provincial capitol of Tay Ninh Province) during 1968, but I'm not certain.
