Hey everyone! Great website. We just got 2 peafowl chics a week ago. They are just 7 weeks old. We need to transition them into the barnyard. But should probably clip their wings until they learn where their home is. Any ideas or websites on how to clip wings? I've never done it before

Thanks Pat

the information can be found at many websites but this is
NOT what I do.
I consider that a bird with clipped wings is NOT safe from
hawks and owls-or even other poultry.
The better alternative is to
COVER THE PEN WITH WIRE.
My peafowls have secure pens attached to coops or with
rain shelter that has perches.

I have freerange peafowl - if your's are going to be free please don't clip their wings - they will be easy prey for foxes... etc - even domestic dogs. Also they will need to fly up to their roost at night? Feed them little and often in the area you want them to stay in.
