WHEN God embraced me in love and forgiveness, I was so happy that I wanted to tell everyone. To encounter God is to be transformed. My zeal for the Lord equals the joy and wonder I feel knowing God's love for me.

I expressed these feelings to my immediate family. Imagine my surprise when they told me I was crazy. "They have brainwashed you!" my relatives said. I was prohibited from speaking at home about my faith. I was isolated and ignored. It caused me great sadness. I cried because I didn't understand what was happening.

The Bible tells us that Jesus suffered rejection. I could relate to that, and I experienced a measure of consolation.

I came to realize that I am a member of a larger family, a family of sisters and brothers of the household of faith. I am prepared to try to live as Jesus did, even if my human family cannot accept me.


Prayer: Thank you, Lord, for your immeasurable love. May it reach
the very depth of our being so we can love as our Master loved. Help us to understand and intercede for those we love who do not know you, that they may come to know your love. Amen.


THOUGHT FOR THE DAY:

God's love is greater than any suffering we may endure for our faith.

The Shetland Pony..


Uses..


The original use for the Shetland Pony was as a pack animal for the crofters, or farmers, on the islands. In the 1800's many Shetlands were exported to mainland Britain and were used as pit ponies in the collieries.

Nowadays, Shetland ponies are popular as pets, companion animals and are also used as children's riding ponies. In the show ring, they can often be seen in the Leading Rein classes, known as Short Stirrup in the United States. I even saw a program on The Animal Planet a week or so ago about the Shetland Pony Grand National, held every year at the Olympia International Horse Show in London.


The American Shetland..


The American Shetland is used as a harness pony and resulted from crosses with the Hackney Pony. It is very different in appearance from the original Shetland Pony, being taller and finer in build, with a high, showy leg action.
