I will say once again, he should have stuck with Ralf saying he was not there and pinning it on Markus, that seemed to be his strongest defense. The heart attack bull was just bullshit smokescreen. She ultimately died of heart failure, but she did not die as a result of any heart attack. Fieger bringing that up in his defense was asinine. He is a great lawyer, but sometimes I just cannot fathom what he must be thinking in some of his actions and decisions.
I cannot help but think if he stuck to the defense that made the most sense, he could have won this case. Maybe.
I do though believe the judge was biased toward him. I believe her feeling toward him started to be formed early on, during all the pretrial hearings. He can be very abrasive and definately rub people the wrong way, especially if you don't know this is part of his usual personality.
I believe something smells of cow dung that the prosecutor just happened to know he was going to run for a position of judge and the judge could have favored him by allowing all the sidebars, etc.
Just as democrats stick with other democrates and republicans stick with their like, judges can side with their own also.
Are we clear whether all the sidebars were really the prosecution giving him a hard time? Or was he being OUT THERE with his accusations and comments to deserve a good deal of the sidebars? I think it is probably equal the reason.
