People...an attorney is supposed to zealously and faithfully defend his client. Absolutely. Unlike probably any of you, I am an attorney.

An attorney is not supposed to "create" a defense based upon conjecture, manufactured facts and outlandish scenarios. A competent attorney does not manipulate the evidence ... and the jury...only to get a verdict. Winning at all costs does not apply to trials! Trials are about truth, not fabrication

What I meant to say is I don't know of Mr. Fieger personally. I will tell you that he is the scurge of the both the defense AND plaintiff's bars in Michigan. Thankfully, his popularity is fading fast by all accounts. His antics have helped to further increase the public's general dislike of attorneys. He makes a mockery of the system. His lack of true legal ability is evidenced by the number of cases he loses on appeal due to reversible error that he commits during the course of trials in lower court proceedings. His clients, in the long run, get the short end of the stick. They may get huge verdicts initially based upon his non-professional way of lambasting a jury, but those verdicts are either overturned or significantly reduced. The hallmark of a great attorney is a flawless trial where the verdict stands up to later appeals! Sensationalism and face time is all this guy gives a damn about! Lay persons with no legal knowledge, training and expertise may find him entertaining as the members of your forum certainly must, but being "entertaining" is not the task of the professional attorney. Being self-serving is not the priority. The interests of the client and the client ALONE are paramount and the only motivation that a attorney should need.
