• Q. What is ORPA?
  A. ORPA is the Oceania RolePlayers Association. The Danaan Rangers is one of the guilds that are a part of the Association. Through ORPA, we can organise many large-scaled multi-guild events.



• Q. What is the Civil War Scenario?
  A. The Civil War Scenario is one of the current scenarios being played out in ORPA. In the scenario the member guilds may lay claim to land or NPC towns and fashion themelves rulers of that claimed area. Other guilds in ORPA will respect the occupying guilds authority in the claimed area, and are expected to "roleplay" ie stay in character if they are confronted by members of a guild that has claimed a certain area.



• Q. How do I find out who has claimed what in the Civil War Scenario?
  A. The ORPA Website has a political map which shows which guilds currently occupy what areas. In the Quick Links menu at the top of the website, under the roleplaying section, there is a link to the ORPA website.



• Q. How do guilds get to claim towns?
  A. Your guildmaster will post on the ORPA Library of Lore a story which shows the intention to occupy some land or a town. The guildmaster will also post an out-of-character note on the ORPA GM's Forum further clarifying exactly what it is that they are claiming.



• Q. How is it that other guilds can impose rules upon me that I don't like?
  A. As part of the Civil War we are participating in, we need to pretend that the occupying guild really does own the place, and thus go along with whatever rule they make up for that area.



• Q. I really don't like what's going on in one of the occupied towns. What can we do?
  A. Because we are a part of ORPA here, to simply pick and choose what parts of ORPA we join in on is not an option. So, we go along with whatever demands have been made and then your guildmaster will decide what the guild will do about the particular problem. If diplomacy fails, then your guildmaster may make a counter-claim on the occupied area to liberate the town... and thus remove the rulers that are passing laws for the town that we dont like.



• Q. What is all the fuss about some "tax" in Moonglow?
  A. BMG are the current rulers of Moonglow. They placed a claim in through ORPA and won the right to rule Moonglow. As part of their rule, they initially placed a 1000 gold piece tax on anyone who was caught in Moonglow. They also initially said that you may use their town bank and magic shop, but must travel in a straight line between the two and not stray elsewhere. Seeing as though many ignored their laws, they have increased the tax to 3000 gold coins and nobody is allowed to use any of the facilities there at all! If you are caught in town, or anywhere on the island for that matter, they will demand the tribute of 3000 gold from you. Should you pay you are free to leave. Should you not pay they will attempt to execute you. They will be roleplaying the part of tax collectors, and we should keep this in mind and remain "in character" too.



• Q. I dont like the tax BMG has placed on Moonglow. I dont want to pay it. They wish to kill me if I dont pay. Can they do that?
  A. As rulers of Moonglow, BMG can pass whatever law they like. If they want us all to wear jester suits in town then that's their perogative as rulers of the town. They currently have a heavy tax in place. We dont like it. They have stated they will kill anyone that does not pay. Your options are to either pay, fight, or leave. Don't get offensive if they ask for the tax - they are merely roleplaying in their own fashion. Respect this, and respond in character.... "I doest not wish to part with mine gold. Begone thieves! *draws sword*" would be a reasonable retort. Another would be "I shall not line thy purse with mine gold! Look, there's a rabbit! *points into the woods* Kal Ort Por *recalls away*". Do not tell them to piss off. It's interaction, roleplaying.... deal with it.



• Q. Is something going to be done about Moonglow and the heavy taxes?
  A. Definately. The Sworn Defenders of the People will be making an announcement shortly. Till then, interact and roleplay. The tax will be dealt with in the proper fashion in due time.
