John, I hope you will point out to the lurkers that the same apostle who wrote the above passage also wrote "th epistle to the Romans, chapter 1 (as well as the rest of the "epistle to the Romans)

18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and wickedness of those who by their wickedness suppress the truth. 19 For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them.

So they are without excuse; 21 for thought they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to himn, but they became futie in their thinking, and their senseless minds were darkened. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became fools; 23 and they exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling a mortal human being or birds or fourfooted animals or reptiles. 24 Therefore, God gave them up to the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the degrading of their bodies among themselves, 25 because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who is blessed forever! Amen.

25 For this reason God gave them up to degrading passions. Their women exchanged natural intercourse for unnatural, 27 and in the same way also the men, givng up natural intercourse with women, were consumed with passion for one another. Men committed shameless acts with men and received in their own persons the due penalty for their error.

Romans 1:18-19, 20d-27

You see, John, the CofC claims that the practice of men having sex with men and women having sex with women is blessed by God as a divine manifestation of His love, and that the church must be turned inside out to accomodate this blessed divine homosexual lifestyle.

As such, I consider it to be hypocritical to the maximum for a CofC priest to post any verses from Romans whatsoever, be the post from whatever translation he selects. You see, if a church does not accept the first chapter of the Book of Romans as accurate and truthful revelation from God, then it has no business using any other part of Romans.

To eliminate the hypocrisy in this post, John, please state clearly for lurkers the official CofC policy regarding same-sex shacking up ceremonies and opposite sex shacking up ceremonies, so that the lurkers will be under no misconception that the CofC has the least interest in what St. Paul has to say, nor considers it of any real value, other than a propaganda tool for dealing with outsiders ignorant of what actually goes on inside the CofC.

I'll not suggest this time, John, I'll ask. Does the CofC recommend giving up the practice of homosexuality for Lent? Even temporarily? Apparently the CofC likes what Paul said about being justified by faith. They just don't want to dwell on the fact that he also said that sexual perversion is a sign of faithlessness. How is an avid practitioner of perverted sex able to be "saved by faith," and Paul speaks of in glowing terms, when Paul, in the same letter, clearly says that the homosexual lifestyle is an infallible sign that such a practitioner never had any faith whatsoever, or lost whatever faith he used to have.

Homosexuality is like adultery, John. It is an iniquity that God will not "tread underfoot" to eliminate it unless the person asking for such an elimination of guilt agrees to give it up.

Wally complained that some on this forum mocked those with whom they disagree. Posting these scriptures before our eyes, when we know the CofC real position regarding them mocks us and insults our intelligence.

George
