Subject: Apostasy Continues to Share the Misery

I heard today on the news that a Fifth Ward congregation at 5208 Noble, in Houston, lost its meeting house, or church building.

The former pastor of the church sold it for $125,000 to a real estate company in Florida and pocketed the money.

So far, the 50-year-old congregation has reportedly spent $40,000 in legal fees trying to block the sale.

When things like this happen, the organizational structure and bylaws of the church have to be questioned and certainly need to be changed. When professional a clergymen can give "administrative approval" to a sale that throw his own congregation out into the street, ejecting them from a building they bought and paid for, organized religion really looks sad.

The new pastor of the church reported, "I would expect something like this from a band of thieves, but not with a church."

I wonder what's been taught in seminaries for the last twenty years?
