I feel rather challenged, common-sense wise, after the last exchange with John. What led to my resignation from the church was the abominable way that the church computer network is operated.

It occurred to me that a lot of the hurt feelings and anger generated in the miscommunication between individuals and HDQ may be due to the persons running the computer system. After all, if they can make forum posts and threads disappear, they can make emails disappear, too.

If you have something that is bothering you regarding the church administration, do not trust communication to email. In the soap opera politics of the church, if the operator(s) of the network don't like what you are talking about, they can interrupt communication.

For instance, if you wish to write the president to ask him to intervene in the silencing of a priest, just write a good old letter. Federal law prohibits monkeying with the mail system. If the network operator(s) suspect that the silenced priest is a Christian, he/she/they/TG might just make your email disappear to make you think that the president didn't even want to answer your email.

John's perfect confidence in assuming that I never received any reply whatsoever from Dr. Smith is what tipped me off to this.
