The Testimony of St. John

<1>1 In the beginning was the gospel preached through the Son. and the gospel was the word, and the word was with the Son, and the Son was with God, and the Son was of God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him, and without him was not anything made which was made. 4 In him was the gospel, and the gospel was the life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in the world, and the world perceiveth it not

John 1:1-5, from Joseph Smith, Jr.'s Inspired Version of the Bible, which is the official doctrinal bible of the CofC

N.B. This passage varies more any of the authoritative Greek texts than does the New World Translation, (of the Jehovah's Witnesses.) I have italicized the added words, and emboldened the specific words that are substituted from the words in the original text.

Anyone who joins the CofC and ends up in a doctrinal dispute in which his or her membership or priesthood (or both) is at stake, will be judged according to the Inspired Version, the Book of Mormon, and the Doctrine and Covenants, and not according to any of the Protestant bibles that are being quoted here by Brother John.
