After his last match RX needed some time to regenerate. Although he was not badly injured, he was damaged none the less. He had now fully regenerated, and now he wanted some answers.
RX: Something is not right about this place…why build an entire fortress, and then have a world-televised tournament that the public are invited to? This makes no sense…and why is X here? How does he fit into the equation? And why is he fighting in this tournament…something does not smell right….and I intend to find out what exactly is going on here…
RX sneaked out of his room, as by his very nature he was very stealthy. He was going deeper and deeper into the core of new Doppler town, trying to find out exactly what was going on. This was the perfect opportunity for this as Doppler and Vile were away on business. RX managed to avoid being detected by any security patrols or sensors. While walking down a corridor he heard voices up ahead
RX: Huh? Someone’s coming!
RX quickly jumped up and grabbed onto the ledge at the top of the right hand wall, he quickly boosted himself up and now stood on the ledge with his back against the wall. Down the corridor came 2 reploids talking about something. It was Thunder Ram and Saber Wolf.
RX: Saber Wolf!!?? What the?? He’s supposed to be dead! (RX said in a whispered tone)
TR: Yes, the generators are going along on schedule. We had a slight problem earlier when there was a huge power surge in the system. And then another one just a short while ago. But luckily there was no major damage, and everything is working to acceptable levels.
SW: I see. What exactly caused these power surges?
TR: I find this hard to believe but apparently it was some combatants in the tournament. But to suggest that any reploid could produce such power levels, especially from such a small body, is simply ridiculous.
SW: Hmm…interesting. What if something similar happens again?
TR: Well before he left, Doppler ordered me to reinforce the generators with an extra buffering system so that any other such power surges will simply be deflected from the generator and then sent as vibrations into the sea.
SW: An ingenious design
TR: Thanks, I designed it myself, but I’m still working out some bugs. But overall not bad for such a short times work.
Suddenly a reploid came running frantically down the corridor.
R: Sir! There is a problem with the new units you brought in.
SW: What kind of problem?
R: It seems to be a programming malfunction sir.
SW: I see (looks to TR) I’m sorry, but I must attend to this, we shall talk later. If you’ll excuse me, I must go now.
TR: Yes I understand, I shall talk to you later Saber Wolf.
At that they both walked off with more work to do.
RX: Saber Wolf is alive…hmm this changes things. Something very strange is going on here…I better investigate a bit further.
RX moved further down nearer to the core of New Doppler Town. Suddenly he stopped when he came across a heavily guarded room, with an energy field in front of it. It looked kind of like a prison cell.
RX: What could be so important that they have to keep it there?
RX snuck around for a bit and then got a glance into the room. It was Megaman X!
RX: X?? but…it looks like he’s being held prisoner…of course! That explains why he’s in the tournament! I’m getting him out of there!
Just as RX was about to attack the set of guards at the entrance, suddenly someone dashed passed them with a saber attack taking down the 2 at the entrance, then he continued with a series of attacks taking out all of the others. He walked over to the cell, but what he didn’t know is that there was one left coming up behind him with a plasma rifle aimed at him. Just as he was about to fire RX leaped into action with a saber attack cutting him in half.
The Reploid turned around surprised to see the reploid slide in half.
“Thanks” Said the reploid.
RX: Impressive moves back there…hey I recognise you…you’re a fighter in the tournament, Zeon right?
Z: Um…yeah. Hey your that Kaiser guy right?
RX: Uh yeah. What exactly are you doing here?
Z: The same thing as you by the looks of it.
RX: I thought something smelled fishy about this whole tournament, so I decided to investigate.
Z: Umm me too. (Zero was afraid to unveil his true identity to the stranger, as was RX)
RX: Looks like this is where they are keeping X.
Z: Your right.
Both Walked over to the force field and X walked forward.
X: Who’s there? What’s going on out there!!??
Z: Its ok X, were here to get you out of here!
X: Do I know you?
Z: Uh no.
RX: No.
X: So who are you guys?
RX: we are contestants in the tournament. I’m Kaiser and he’s Zeon. And we are here to get you out of here.
X: Well, thank you both. But I don’t think you’ll be able to break this force field, I’ve tried for hours and not even weakened it in the slightest. It seems to be some sort of new type of energy field technology (Thanks to all of the specialists working together)
Z: Let us take a crack at it, all 3 of us at once, ok?
RX: Ready.
X: Ok, lets do it!
Zero pulled out his saber and attacked with a series of slashes, RX began using his power punches and X continually fired at it with his charged buster. But there was no affect.
Z: Damn, no affect!
RX: It would seem that the only way in is with the password.
X: And I think I know who has it. Doppler. He’s the only one able to get in or out of here.
RX: Hmm? Someone is coming, we’d better get out of here.
Z: Don’t worry X, we’ll be back to get you out later.
X: Ok, thank you Zeon and Kaiser.
RX: No problem, but we better hurry back, I have a match in a few minuet’s.
Z: Ok, lets go!
RX and Zero dashed off towards their separate quarters. X was surprised with the 2 new friends he seemed to have gotten, he found it strange that complete strangers would risk their lives to help him. But then after all, he was pretty famous.
X: I just hope they are ok.
