(Here is a follow up piece on RX's last battle...)
Signas had been able to find the fight tournament on one of the billion and a half cable channels that could be viewed from the lounge. Inside the Loung, at Hunter HQ, Signas did something odd...he watched TV! Not because he decideldly needed to veg out, no...there was some very disturbing news. Douglas, Life Saver, Alia, and even some of the boys from X's 17th unit piled in to the lounge to watch the giant wall monitor. The news commentator was a human male, with a bad hairdoo. "...the fireman saved many lives this time, we were all very fortunate it was not worse. In other news today, Reploid rights activists were shocked, and thrown into an uproar. Apparently, once respected Reploid scientist Dr. Doppler, has been holding a fight tournament on his own private island." (As he spoke, a picture of Doppler appeared over his shoulder.) Doppler's not talking personally, but word from his media team is that the fight is a purely legit operation, and that no criminal activity is taking place.
Now, while the books might say that sponsoring the tournament is legal, murdering Reploids for entertainment is not. Action News has obtained these rare, never before seen images from our spy-net news system. We urge those with senstive stomachs to turn away from the screen!"
Alia, Douglas, Signas, and all of those watching gasped in horror as they watched the two Reploids fight. One of them, clad in a sinister black cloak could be seen ripping a beetle shaped Reploid in half. Alia knew that if she had a stomach, it would have been turning in disgust. Strange too, was the power which floated around the dark one.
"I cannot watch this anymore. Turn this off!", Signas sighed. "What horrible violence.", Lifesaver added.
"No wonder the activists were upset.", Alia added.
"Hey Signas, did you say X was there?", Douglas asked.
This got everyone's attention, including the boys from the 17th unit. In unison, they all began to ask about thier commander. Signas had no choice but to tell them about X's being held hostage. This of course added to the noise. Signas calmed them down. "Listen, Zero is there, and says he is taking care of it."
"I think we should still go there." ,one of them said. "What if Zero is in trouble too? We should go get them out of there!" Douglas, Lifesaver, and Alia all agreed.
"Alright. Listen. we'll give Zero 24 hours to get X out of there, and have him at least be on his way back here. If he can't do that in 24 hours, then I'll send you all after him, agreed?" It wasn't what they wanted, but they agreed.
Signas turned to Alia. "Alia, come with me, we have work to do. I need to talk to Zero..."
