Scene: Interior-Doppler Situation room.
Vile stood next to a control console. From here, he could see all of the movements of their forces on the Moon. The console was enourmous, and spanned the length of the wall, and even went up to a second level. A catwalk, and staging had been built around it, and 30 Reploid technicians manned every station at the console. Vile was on the Higher level, looking at the Master view. Byte's picture was in the top right corner. A stream of data scrolled up the left side, as the two conversed. Vile ended the transmission with a request. "Give me regular reports please. Vile out."
This was the scene in the west basement control room. There were four rooms, each of them semi-circular, and split by a dividing wall. The overall coloring of each room differed by the panelling, but each room was exactly identical. They each had the same oversized, two level console. And all of them were joined at the back to the same circular chamber. This was Doppler's private room. From here, he could see each of the master view screens.
Doppler sat back in his swivel chair, watching the view through the glass. Vile walked into the room beside him.
"How's it going out there?", he asked.
"Everything on the moon is operating on schedule.", Vile told him.
"And the arial conflict?"
"Our forces are managing to keep Castendo at bay, although some troops have been detected on the ground. We're also receiving a second set of signals."
"Oh really? Is it from Castedno?"
"Possibly, or else the Maverick Hunters finally decided to join us."
"What is the nature of the signals?"
"We detected a large influx of marks with increasing speed, heading toward the opposite coast line."
"Torpedos?"
"Yeah. Looks like they want to soften us up a bit."
"Should we brace for impact?"
"I'm not sure. They must have some kind of stealth cloaking on the torpedos. The signals disappeared shortly after we detected them. Based on their speed, and trajectory, we can only estimate that they would have hit us by now. Unless they have some kind of variable speed torpedos. They could also be launching a mine field into our waters."
"Were you able to track the projectiles to the source?"
"Yes Dr. Doppler. In fact, we were able to trace them to a single origin point on the map. Surveillance detects a Titan class Nuclear submarine just out of missle range, off our coastline."
"Just one?"
"Yes, but I suspect there will be more."
Dr. Doppler straightened in his chair. "Launch the naval fleet. Go with attack pattern Tango Nebula Grata. Rendezvous is set at point oh-three."
"Doctor Doppler? What about the counter offensive? You know, cut off the enemies head?"
"Patience Vile. We won't play that card just yet. Let the battle come to us for now. When the time is right, we will launch our counter attack."
"What do you want me to do next?", Vile asked.
"Organize the Navy as per ordered. Instruct them to prepare for mines, or a torpedo strike. Oh, and Vile...have them prepare for boarders. We can't let anyone take to shore!"
"I understand." ,Vile answered. With that, he turned, and left for the situation room. (to be continued)
