Swift strides carry dappled mare closer. Tears trickle down chiseled face and splash 'pon the ground when she reality sinks in. Visage is dropped towards foals, auds flickering towards Dawn.... Subject Author Date The tiny palomino filly opens her eyes, looking around her for the first time. The world was so large, frightening. She shies away from the mare's comforting touch, looking for her mother. She nuzzles up to the mare, an alarming iciness coming over her. Whimpering slighty, she licks the mare's face, but when she doesn't move, a single tear trickles down her face before she turns it to the other mares, understanding. Her mother was gone. Upon The Breeze 05:48:22 06/06/02 Thu *Dappled silver steed steps forward from the darkness, he knew this would happen, he knew that his day would end in heartbreak. His beloved Wit was gone, how could she leave him? He needed her now more than ever. Heart-breaking news struck him, life had been full of some many let downs, yet he somehow, knew that it wasn't just let downs, he knew that he was lucky, but right now, he couldn't find it in him, to be grateful for anything. Single tear drips down stallion's etched features, he flees the scene for a moment, then after a while returns, carrying a rose, he drops it at the mare's head, and his heart whells up with emotion. He turns away from the mare, unable to bear the still form of his once, lively, energetic, and beloved mate, Wit.* -- Enigma, 10:43:23 06/06/02 Thu ~Tiny buckskin colt raises his head, frantically searching for his mother. But all he sees are strange mare, and a stallion. The stallion, he had never seen, of course, but he seemed so familiar. Orbs take in the dappled steed wondering, he rises, gathering his gangly legs beneath him. Uncertainty, in his orbs, but something drives him forward as he teeters weakly to the grey's side. After reaching him he looks up into his father's eyes, then presses his head into the stallion's broad chest. Warmth, the same feeling of comfort that his mother had given him, was found in this stallion. He stands like this for a moment, before he collapses in a heap.* -- The Miracle Within, 10:52:32 06/06/02 Thu The filly whickers weakly, her own eyes drawn towards the stallion. She starts to gather her legs under her, but they won't hold her weight, and she soon collapses, panting. Still, her determination was great, and after only a few seconds rest she struggled, getting her forelegs beneath her and thrusting upwards with all her might. Managing to pull her legs underneath her, she stands, trembling, legs splayed, eyes wide. She makes no further attempt to move, so precariously balanced that one step would bring her back down. Instead she whinnies softly, pleadingly. -- Breeze, 11:46:52 06/06/02 Thu *she steps back, heartache great. Watching Enigma and the foals, she whickers low, eyes full of grief. The look on Enigma's face was almost too hard to bear, and the foals, confused about their mother. Tears glisten 'pon golden visage as she takes in the scene, standing silently away, for Enigma needed room, and time.* (NT) -- Dawn, 11:50:22 06/06/02 Thu The filly gathers her courage and steps towards the mare, eyes filling with curiousity. She stretches her neck out, slowly but surely reaching the mare, and lifts her head, licking each tears off the mare's face. Suddenly, something startles her, and she leaps backwards, letting out a whinny of fear as she falls to the ground with the sudden movement. She lays in shock for a moment before gathering her legs and shoving hard, standing up again. Lowering his head, he whuffs softly, cool breath, breezing across the colt, his orbs gentle and forgiving. He slowly make his way over to Dawn, where he trembles in fear. He knew she wasn't going to hurt him, but, it was...He missed his mother...~ -- Miracle, 08:15:03 06/07/02 Fri *Dappled silver mare makes her way inward. Cry of disbelief emits from mare, when she sees her mother's still form. Mare falls to the ground sobbing, wondering why her mother had left her. Searching for someone to blame, she looks at the two new foals, in disgust, they had killed her! Mare screams in fury, not being able to listen to the reason, that was deep inside, they weren't to blame. But all she wanted was someone or something to blame. She found it. In those new murderous foals. Rearing up, she screams again, and land, taking flight she flees into the darkness.* -- Shattered Mysteries, 08:19:43 06/07/02 Fri *mare steps protectively in front of foals, but remains silent. She knew blinded anger drove Shat to show such fury, and with time, her broken heart would mend. Watching after her departing form, she sighs, wishing she could help, but knowing the newborn foals needed more attention now. Whickering softly to the buckskin colt, she smiles. "Come, little one. You must be hungry. No harm will come to you now." (NT) -- Dawn, 10:58:24 06/07/02 Fri The filly's eyes widen and she cries out in panicked fear, cringing away from the silver mare. She struggles to pull her feet under her, and rises, fear consuming her. Desperately, she whirls, galloping awkwardly, legs going in all directions, tripping constantly. Finally she falls, gasping for breath, her heart racing with terror. Whimpering, she pushes up against a nearby tree, trying to become as small as possible. The tree held no warmth...she only wanted to snuggle next to her mother, to be comforted, protected...her mother was gone. The tears came, more now, and she was left choking on dry sobs. She was so tired...wouldn't it be nice, to go to sleep, to not wake up? Her eyelids began to sink, and she struggled half heartedly to keep them open, but drowsiness and sorrow was getting the best of her. (NT) -- Breeze, 14:01:32 06/07/02 Fri ~Buckskin colt watches sister retreat, and looks after the silver mare, eyes not showing fear, but confusion.
