..and I do agree that his occasional digs at fans are digs at the hostile fans instead of ones like us. It's just that we *all* suffer from the comments. I don't know if he cares about making his fans happy or not, but I think he appreciates fans because I have heard references to that before. He's only human; perhaps he feels the hostility more than we know and can't help but make those digs occasionally. Just speculation, though.

OT, but, I heard what he said on Rosie about he's given FOX his terms and the ball is in their court as to whether or not he'll return for S8. In other words, there are negotiations going on instead of FOX just trying to woo him back, like I thought. If, IF, his terms are to a appear in fewer episodes like, say 10 or 12, what would be the reaction from the fans? I'm all for him coming back but it would be a form of torture just to have Mulder via cel phone conversations or references to Mulder being out of town, or etc. Would it be possible that some fans would become even more hostile and even resentful of him for that kind of deal? He gets to have his cake and eat it too.
