Subject: LOL, good news on the shark.

I thought we were all nutty on this board. LOL. The shark has disappeared. Probably gone off to feed on a few whales down south. It was 3 or 4 metres long so catching it wouldn't have been an option. Alive that is. I don't think sharks are very clever. I think they function on a very primitive instinct. They are, afterall, prehistoric creatures. Surfers look very sealified too. I don't know why a shark would come in so close and go after swimmers though. I can only think that it is maybe lazy and sees humans as easy prey. Not that it can discern between humans and other sea creatures. Noone really knows much about sharks. They had a thing on TV the other night and they stressed that sharks bring up panicked feelings in people because of the fear factor. They reckon that shark attack is the most feared way that humans can think of to die. Or one of the most feared. People tend to knee jerk over shark incidents. Myself included. BTW, Detoured, have you read my campaign promises?
Ian Thorpe in with sharks. LOL. ON the telly they said that the alert of shark compels even the most sluggish swimmer to Thorpian feats. I guess he figured he could out swim them. hee hee.

Where was the tortoise? We have alot of Galapagos tortoises here at our Zoo. I seem to recall one of the keepers mentioning Charles Darwin's aquisition of one tortoise but I can't think if it was one of ours or one elsewhere. Hardly anything is known about the tortoises. Ours are frequently seen doing the NP, albeit extremely slowly, but none have bred. Noone knows why they haven't. No records on tortoises were kept by the likes of CD and noone has been so enamoured by them as to want to make torotoises their life study. I think they are lovely. We love to pat them. Their skin is so soft. I must find out if the tortoise you mentioned is one of ours.
