Subject: For me, the scariest ones. . .

are the ones that contain just a tiny hint of things supernatural, thus making me worried that those weirdos might really be out there. Thus, eps like "Irressitible/Orison", "Home", "Paper Hearts" and "The Pine Bluff Variant" are among the most frightening ones to me. A werewolf/vampire/alien/whatever ep is scary while you're actually watching it, but as soon as you flip off the TV you can shrug your shoulders and say "Well, those things aren't real." You can't do the same with eps about serial killers and ecoterrorists.
Yeah, I think CC is stressing "scary" a lot more this season. I don't think Dogsbreath has the acting ability to carry off a lighthearted ep in the spirit of "The Rain King" or "Hollywood, A.D.". If we get any "fun" eps (and we'll probably get at least one) it won't be until DD has returned.
