Subject: My personal relationship with TXF & Moonlighting.

For me personally, TXF is the only TV series that has equalled Moonlighting. For the last 16 years I have used ML as a yardstick for all TV drama series', it consistantly pushed the boundaries of television & proved time after time what could be achieved with style, form & structure. And although I agree that it was initially a 'light-hearted drama', Glenn Caron developed it into something much more sophisticated as the series progressed. Using the detective genre as a jumping off point, Caron was able to experiment with period drama, Shakespearean parody & self-reflexive skits all mixed in with Grant & Russell quick-fire, razor sharp dialogue. Eventually it collapsed under the weight of its own innovation & because a prime-time audience wasn't ready to have its expectations subverted.
This is why I love TXF so much, because like Moonlighting, I don't know what is going to happen in an episode. I have no preconceptions of what style, form or structure the episode will take and that makes for the most exciting television imaginable.

XXX Sig:)
