Don't know if I read this idea on a spoiler site or if it was someones personal idea, but it was about Mulder's return later in the season. It was that he returns and resumes his place as the leading paranormal expert and continues working on the XFiles, along with Scully and Doggett. A threesome. Imagine the possibilities for the writers there.

Mulder (settling back in *his* chair and piddling with yellow pencils): "Ah what was your name? oh, Doggett...yeah. Doggett would you look in the files for the XFile about slobber. Yeah, slobber. Slobber with an acid in it and traces of pepsin in it; I need the name of that acid, if you don't mind. You might try in cabinet marked #3. Oh, and Scully, I'll get that extra desk removed ASAP. It's alittle cramped in here for the playpen for Walter, Jr., don't you think? BTW, whatever happened to my nameplate?"

Scully (distracted that her blouse buttons again, but manages to whine anyway): "But Mulder, he's a manly man and he needs a desk, too."

Doggett (glaring at Mulder in a Terminator sortof way): "It's OK, Dana, I'll just work in that area over there."
