Subject: I often disagree with 11th hour

The 11th Hour has said several things about The X-Files in the past that I strongly disagree with, though I think this is the first one I've read that was so harsh. I've read a review by them that said if TXF wanted to maintain any respect and credibility it should have ended after the fifth season instead of milking it for all the money it's worth. I also followed a link there from NickLea.com once because they had a little article about him. They had spectacular things to say about Nick Lea himself, but pretty much attacked every other aspect of the X-Files that anyone could possibly think of.

It seems to me that 11th hour has a vendetta against TXF for some reason and looks for only bad things whenever it does a review. I didn't read the reviews for The Amazing Maleeni or Signs and Wonders, but I'm sure they're not spectacular either. I think if any of us went into the episode looking only for things to hate we could come up with plenty. Have you read Amber's review? If not you can find her reviews on the links page in here. I always enjoy her reviews because she explains what she liked and what she didn't like fairly and without blatent criticism and bashing. It's very unbiased, except for a particular affection for Scully.

Overall, I found things that I liked and didn't like in the episode. I thought the entire thing was very well acted by both Duchovny and Anderson. The only thing I didn't like that DD did was the scene where the jail woman was telling him about walk ins. He struck me as too believing, I found it ridiculous, though it could be that he was just trying to show how desperate Mulder was. I'm not sure how I felt about the Jon Benet picture thing. On one hand it seems a little cruel, but on the other hand it does add some power to what is going on in the episode. I guess that leaves it up to each person as to if it was right to put that in or not. I don't think it demeans Jon Benet's death anymore than all of the other crap that I've seen about her on television.

I'll tell you one thing I am a little tired of: Samantha. I know that she is the reason for Mulder's search in the first place, but it seems to have been dragged out. If they don't give me some answers tomorrow I am going to be seriously upset.
