I agree! I realize this is kind of the underlying theme for the whole series, so I can understand why they couldn't resolve it early on, but now that "XF" is about halfway through its final season, I think they need to bring this storyline to an end.
I think finding out what *REALLY* happened to Samantha will kind of give the series a little added oomph for the final half of the final season. Because once Mulder knows "the truth" he gets to work out some other issues like: Does he want to stay on the X-Files just for the joy of investigating mutants and criminals with psychic powers or would he rather return to the Violent Crimes Squad? What kind of relationship does he really want with Scully? Finding out what happened to Samantha has been his main goal in life for the past 25 years. Once he knows, he has to ask himself what *ELSE* he wants out of life.
