Since, as I noted in my original post, "XF" is one of the few shows to base it's storylines on the characters' religious beliefs, I've wondered for several years what CC's own beliefs are. My guess � and it's nothing more than that � is that he's Catholic like Scully and returned to the active practice of his faith about the same time she did. I know he gave a lot of his personality quirks (like the sunflower thing) to Mulder, but he created Scully, too. Maybe he gave that part of himself to her.
