Subject: Still wondering about Signs and Wonders...

I'm still puzzled by a couple things in this ep. Islandgirl's explanation about Mulder and the test seems about right. I like that idea that it might mean he is more of a good person than he thinks. He tends to have very low self esteem, I think. But if he is proven righteous because he survived the snake bite rather than just because he was bitten, is it only because Scully was there in time to save him? Might he have died otherwise?

So could we say that Mulder's righteousness is only proven by Scully's presence in his life and she acts as a guardian angel for him? Or maybe she validates his worth which she has always done really in her role on the x-files.

Others are asking why Scully didn't get bit. Does this lend yet more credence to the idea that Scully is somehwhat spiritually elevated from the rest of the world? The whole St. Scully thing. I think that was dismantled considering her actions in Orison. Maybe here is is just another example of the Scully is immortal argument.

Also, what did Gracie mean whe she said her father saved her? She still gave birth to snakes anyway! What did he do to save her?
