I didn't feel like Mrs. Mulder was transformed into a saint or made into a martyr.

* She didn't tell Mulder what it was she wanted to talk to him about. She could have made her need to talk to Mulder sound more urgent - then I'm sure he would have called her back. If she'd said, "I need to talk to you about Samantha" I bet he would have been on the next plane to Connecticut.

* She burned the photos.

* Sure, she had an incurable disease, but I still think suicide is incredibly selfish, which to me fits in perfectly with her character.

* She didn't leave a note. How nice to let her son wonder for the rest of his life what was on her mind, why she did it, etc. Would it have killed her (no pun intended) to simply say that she loved him?

* If she had knowledge of what happened to Samantha, to keep that from Mulder all these years when she *knew* he was hurting is just cruel. And then to take it to the grave? Evil.

If it turns out that she was murdered I'll have to rethink some of this. But why kill her now? Doesn't make sense to me. It makes more sense that someone would have taken the note.

krh, who also never watched Harsh Realm
