Actually it was Lazarus where we learn she dated one of her professors and Never Again where she hooked up with psycho tattoo man...but that makes all things and Daniel fit in even more, *two* previous dangerous relationships we've known about.
I heard GA wrote the opening scene to tell us definitely they did the NP, then CC made it ambiguous (surprise, surprise). I heard CC wrote the last scene, which we know he did some of it with that ridiculous David Crosby comment which was totally rude and uncalled for considering Scully's infertility...CC did do a good job with whatever he wrote, because whether you think the ep was good or bad, or too GA/too little Scully, the ep flowed well. In and of itself it made sense and I think the directing was terrific.
