I thought more shippy (what am I turning into?! Ah!) and that he sent the kid away just for some privacy so he could take care of her. But he did probably want to talk about the situation with the case too. Also he may know that Scully is a very private person and doesn't like strangers around especially when she's ill. ?Hevck, look hoew long it took for her to stop sayin g, "I;'m fine" to Mulder!

I love how he always goes into a little panic when Scully is out of his sight. I think it started with Firewalker or were there earlier examples?

I agree this ep was so much about M&S and their history and I'm glad Stardoe that you are reminding us that the MSR is about their relationship as a whole and not just the "love" stuff.
