Subject: Millennium - Fancy a snog?

This was one of the best horror/scary X Files I�ve seen. I loved the interaction between Mulder and Frank Black. It was the perfect combination, really. Two profilers together and the younger one deferential to the older man�s expertise. I think both Mulder and Scully got a lot out of meeting Frank. The episode retained a lot of the atmosphere of the �Millennium� series, with the addition of the music from that show. As far as XF is concerned, there was a lot of Season 1 in this one. Plenty of dark shadows and gruesome living dead lurking in the shadows. I liked it a lot.

I *didn�t* really like the kiss, I�m sorry to say. Not only had there been little build up to the New Year celebrations (I didn�t get a feeling of a race against time to beat 12.00) but I also didn�t get a feeling from M & S that they felt particularly close that day or that they felt affected by the global event. So I felt that the kiss was a reaction, somewhat in embarrassment, as they watched others in Times Square embrace. It was a very unsexual kiss. I can�t imagine anyone watching it would think it a perfect reflection of Mulder and Scully�s relationship. Afterwards, I thought Scully looked a bit sad. Was she thinking: �Oh, so *that�s* what kissing Mulder on the lips is like. Not life changing then.� They didn�t seem very excited about the New Year. I thought they looked sombre, if anything and even the �Happy New Year� they wished each other was awkward. Sorry if shippers think it more significant. To tell the truth, I would have preferred a big juicy hug. They are good at those and they really mean them.
