I didn't find Requiem any more or less depressing than other season finales. It's hard to say, though. The end is, of course, bittersweet, depressing and happy. To me it was unsettling, especially if it had been the end of the series. It actually would have been a perfect ending for the series; I love the ep, and would still love CC for it, but I also would've been pretty darn mad at him, too, for ending everything that way! Thinking about it, we've had some pretty good cliffhangers at the end of seasons, but I think many depressing eps were in the middle of seasons, the first that comes to mind is CC/Emily.
